Trying the evening menu at @blackwheatclub
New openings in York | Episode 13
Since opening less than 2 months ago, Black Wheat Club on Fossgate has taken York by absolute storm.
As soon as I entered, I fell in love with the relaxed but quietly buzzing atmosphere. It describes itself as bakery and bistro serving in their words small batch plates, thoughtful plates and wine without the fuss. Last night they opened their doors for the first time in the evening so we went out to try out their menu of small plates. The menu was so good we struggled to choose what to get so we ordered a variety to share including this Black Wheat Club Sourdough to start with pickles. For mains we shared the 12 hour pork steak with a leek bbq sauce and the smash burger accompanied by what had to be our favourite dish, the black wheat club potatoes in a delicious creamed rosemary sauce with cheese and herbs. For dessert we tried the bread and butter pudding, using homemade butter ice cream. If you don’t fancy wine I highly recommend this homemade strawberry soda with an kick! Everything about our meal was amazing and I’ll definitely be back.

[invite +1] Trying out the Land and Sea Sharing Board at @tomahawk_york 🥩 🌊
Nestled down an alley draped in fairy lights in the centre of York, you can find the beautiful Tomahawk, a specialist steak restaurant and cocktail bar.
We went on a foodie date to try out the Land and Sea Platter. I just love a sharing board as I can never choose one menu item, so being able to pick 4 sides alongside the six different types of steak and fish meant I was a happy girl, plus, with cheese pulls so big I have to stand up, I’m not complaining.
Tomahawk is also participating in @cocktailweekyork which is on for another few days, and their lovely bar downstairs as well as their courtyard make a perfect spot for a drink. I had the besttt mojito ever, I highly recommend. Check the link in my bio for half price wristbands (aff)

FINALLY paid a visit to the new @thaiseason_york on Bishy Rd and unsurprisingly it was amazing, the same food we know and love in Shambles Market and off the A1079!
I don’t need to post this video as you guys already know about it! Every time I pass it’s busy and they’re doing amazingly.
Fab service, mouthwatering food, love the Bishy Road sign!

Definitely serving up the best cupcakes in York with the best view of York Minster, I jumped at the opportunity to decorate my own and have afternoon tea with my fav bunch of girls aka York Girlies.

Where else can you get huge portions of cheesy, gooey build-your own street food?
All of the food is phenomenal, from these loaded dirty fries with an entire camembert on top, to the best halloumi fries i’ve ever eaten, to posh cheese on toast to garlic and rosemary baked camembert served with toasted bread, to trader’s platters where you get to choose three cheeses of your choice, this is a cheese lover’s dream.
But this is only one aspect of what makes The Cheese Trader so special.
Most cheese shops are transactional and are reluctant to give you tasters, but not here.
Stu, the owner, who calls himself a one man cheese show, explains that The Cheese Trader is all about coming in and having an experience and trying something new.
His knowledge and passion about his produce is admirable.
As well as having a selection of European cheeses, Stu is all about championing British cheese, and visiting the independent family ran farms they come from, checking their sustainability, meeting the animals and seeing their high welfare.

This cafe and deli on Goodramgate has everything from breakfasts to lunchtime sandwiches to afternoon teas to sharing boards and beers. There is such a lovely, cozy atmosphere, and the italian roasted coffee is delicious too!
